Basta una letra potente, el sonido punzante de un piano y una voz inconfundible para hacer que el tiempo se detenga, al escuchar nota a nota la melodía de esta canción. En ella, tal como en el vino, hay penas que intentan ser ahogadas, dolores que buscan la forma de ser mitigados, sorbo a sorbo. Más no encuentran el debido consuelo e inexorablemente salen a la superficie, para ser padecidos en vida.

Existen diversas versiones de este tema. Pero nos quedamos con ésta, porque se hace sentir gracias a la profundidad de voz y contenida pasión de su intérprete, Nina Simone.
